Selecting a cut gasket involves more than its shape or thickness. The fluid, temperature, pressure, condition of the flange sealing surfaces, available bolt load and any regulatory requirements determine the most suitable material.
European Sealing Technology supports customers from material selection through to delivery of the finished gasket. Depending on the requirement, we supply sheets, standard flange gaskets or custom-cut parts from a drawing, sample or dimensions.
Our converting capabilities cover one-off parts and prototypes as well as repeat production runs, using press cutting or CNC waterjet cutting according to the material, dimensions and geometry.
Working from a drawing, sample or specification, EST selects press cutting or CNC waterjet cutting to suit the material, geometry and production quantity.
Standard or custom-made
We supply, among other products:
- flange gaskets to common DIN, EN and ASME/ANSI standards where the material and construction permit;
- custom gaskets to customer drawing;
- complex or non-circular shapes;
- prototypes and small batches;
- production runs;
- large-size gaskets;
- parts in thicknesses requiring a suitable cutting process.
When no drawing is available, a sample or the principal dimensions may be sufficient for us to assess manufacture.
Our cut gasket families
Fibre gaskets / NOVUS®
A versatile range of asbestos-free gasket sheets for many industrial applications. EST has extensive experience with Flexitallic® NOVUS® materials and can supply full sheets, standard gaskets or custom-cut parts.
Graphite gaskets
Expanded graphite is particularly suitable where good compressibility, low permeability and reliable performance under severe thermal conditions are required. Reinforced and unreinforced constructions are available.
PTFE gaskets
Virgin, filled, modified or multidirectionally expanded PTFE is especially suitable where chemical resistance and material cleanliness are critical. EST supplies KWO® MultiTex® and Flexitallic® Uniflon®/SIGMA solutions, among others.
Rubber gaskets
NBR, EPDM, CR, FKM, silicone, CSM, PU, NR, SBR and other grades: elastomer selection depends on the fluid, temperature, environment and required mechanical properties.
Mica & high-temperature materials
For temperatures beyond the limits of conventional materials, EST supplies mica- and vermiculite-based solutions including EST-Temp, EST-MCSS and Thermiculite® 715/815.
Other cut gaskets
We also convert less common materials, including cork, felt, tear-resistant paper, high-temperature fibres, PFA/FEP, Nefalit, manway gaskets and other technical materials.
Selecting the right material
For effective selection, please provide:
- a drawing or dimensions;
- flange type or part geometry;
- fluid or product in contact;
- minimum and maximum temperature;
- operating pressure;
- quantity;
- specific requirements: food contact, drinking water, oxygen, chemical service, fire safety, etc.;
- required lead time.
If this information is incomplete, our team can help identify the data actually required.
Responsiveness
With a substantial stock of raw materials, standard products and semi-finished products, we can respond quickly to both routine requirements and urgent requests.
