Fibre gaskets / NOVUS®

European Sealing Technology has worked with the Flexitallic® group for more than 20 years on compressed fibre gasket materials. The NOVUS® range covers a broad spectrum of industrial applications, allowing the grade to be selected for the fluid, temperature, pressure and joint assembly.

Depending on the requirement, we supply:

• full sheets for customers carrying out their own cutting;
• standard flange gaskets, including common ASME B16.21 and DIN/EN dimensions;
• custom gaskets to drawing, sample or dimensions;
• small batches and repeat production runs.

Standard gaskets can be press-cut in production runs. Special geometries are produced using the most suitable cutting process, including CNC waterjet cutting.

NOVUS® 30

NOVUS® 30 is a versatile compressed sheet based on aramid and inorganic fibres with a nitrile binder. Flexitallic® specifies it for a broad range of services including hot and cold water, steam, oils, fuels, gases and many general chemicals.

The manufacturer’s data sheet remains the reference for service limits and compatibility.

NOVUS® 34

NOVUS® 34 is an enhanced-performance universal grade based on aramid/inorganic fibres and a high-quality nitrile binder. It is intended for applications involving oils, solvents, high-pressure steam and gases, among others.

Selection for oxygen service or any regulated application must always be based on the current manufacturer data sheet and approvals.

SF2800

SF2800 is an aramid-fibre material with a nitrile binder for a broad range of industrial applications. Subject to compatibility and the manufacturer’s limits, it can be used with steam, water, oils, solvents, fuels, gases and general chemicals.

Subject to availability and requirements, EST can also supply:

Full sheet — allowing the customer to retain flexibility or carry out its own cutting. Standard flange gasket — for prompt supply in standard dimensions. Custom gasket to drawing — for housings, special flanges, heat exchangers or equipment whose geometry does not match a standard.

Before selecting a fibre material, consider at least:

• fluid;
• temperature;
• pressure;
• thickness;
• flange type and condition;
• available gasket seating stress;
• approval or compliance requirements.
