Operating principle
The V-Ring is fitted on the shaft and rotates with it. Its flexible lip seals axially against a stationary counterface, creating a barrier against external contaminants.
It is often used as additional protection ahead of a radial shaft seal.

Advantages
Depending on the profile and application:
- simple installation;
- good protection from dust and splashes;
- ability to tolerate certain misalignment or runout;
- small axial space requirement;
- no complex machined housing for the seal itself.

Materials
The range principally includes:
- NBR;
- FKM / Viton® where required by the thermal or chemical environment.
Other versions may be available depending on the manufacturer.

Standard or special size
Standard V-Rings can be supplied promptly; less common or special sizes are assessed on request.
